2010 Honda CR-V: Upgrades by Modulo and Mugen

Both Mugen and Modulo have worked on the 2010 Honda CR-V facelift for the Japanese domestic market. The upgrade is made up by an aero kit along with new front and rear bumpers, a restyled grille, side skirts and a roof spoiler. There is also a more subtle kit with aluminium skidplates. AC Schnitzer does the BMW Z4

Famous BMW tuner AC Schnitzer, has worked its magic on the E89 BMW Z4, which is the latest Z4 roadster. Under the hood, the tuner has worked on the 3.0-liter turbocharged engine found in the sDrive35i model. The engine now produces 360HP, instead of 300HP in stock form. Thanks to the upgrade, the Z4 sprints to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and it can deliver a top speed of 286 km/h.

Other upgrades include a stainless steel sports rear silencer and the chromed tailpipe trims, new springs as well as an aerodynamic pack that is made up by a chrome front grille and front spoiler. New sports fenders (with integral air outlets to help cool the front brakes) as well as a two-piece rear spoiler make up the rest of the exterior upgrades.

Inside, AC Schnitzer has added an aluminium cover for the i-Drive System Controller and an aluminum pedal set. Potential buyers can also choose between three wheel sizes, including 18, 19 and 20 inch versions of the custom AC Schnitzer wheels. Continue reading to view an image gallery.

ABT squeezes out 75HP more out of the Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10

Audi’s favorite tuner ABT, was worked its magic on the Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 super car. In stock form, the 5.2 liter V10 pumps out 525HP and 530Nm of torque, but ABT has managed to squeeze out a further 75HP, bringing total output to 600HP, which helps reduce 0 – 100 km/h sprint time by 0.1 seconds, to 3.8 seconds. Top speed is rated at 322 km/h.

More features include an adjustable sports suspension system, a new front grille, new front air dams, side skirts, a new rear apron and a new rear wing. Also, it comes with a new four-pipe exhaust system and extensive use of carbon fiber. It sits on the ground with 20-inch alloy wheels. Continue reading to view an image gallery.

Sportec cranks out 400HP from the Audi TT RS’ 2.5 liter turbo

Auto tuning company Sportec has announced an upgrade kit for the Audi TT RS, that can enable the RS to pump out 400HP at 5,800 revs and 544Nm of torque at 2,650 revs, from its 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder powerplant that produces 340HP and 450Nm of pulling power in stock form.

The upgrade kit (Stage 1) is made up by re-mapping the ECU. Available in the UK for £1,200 (via APS of Brackley), the upgrade can help propel the TT RS to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, compared to 4.6 seconds with the un-tampered engine. 568HP performance package for the Camaro SS by GeigerCars

Automotive tuning company GeigerCars has announced a new performance package for the Camaro SS. In stock form, the SS, which is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 outputs 432HP ad 569Nm of torque, while with the package, you can bump up the figures to 568HP and to a massive 799Nm of torque (4,100 revs), thanks to a mechanical compressor. This should propel the upgraded SS to 100 km/h in less than 5.0 seconds, up to a top speed of 314 km/h.

More features include coilover suspension, adjustable anti-roll bar, sport catalysts, a stainless steel exhaust system and a two-plate sport clutch. The German tuner has also upgraded the stopping power with Brembo’s expertise. With the package, you will get 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers along with 380 mm and 355 mm discs. Phoenix Trans Am conversion kit for your Camaro coming this fall!

Trans Am Depot has announced that it will start offering the Phoenix Trans Am conversion kit for the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro by fall this year. The conversion kit revives the classic Trans Am treatment given to the Pontiac Firebird (the Pontiac brand will be buried next year) many years ago. The kit will be first featured on a Trans Am Concept, that will be presented at this year’s Trans Am Nationals, followed by the first production conversion later this year.

The kit is being designed by Kevin Morgan and will be available as an installed conversion only. More information regarding pricing and other details will be announced soon, but Trans Am Depot has revealed features, for both the exterior and the interior, that would be included in the package.

For the exterior, the kit will consist of a 1′ – 1.5′ lowering kit with a sway bar, restyled hood, shaker scoop, fender extractors, exhaust conversion with splitter tips, a rear spoiler as well as rear fascia clip with tail lamp lenses and bulbs. The exterior would be further finished with Trans Am graphics, and silver machined face Snowflake wheels (also available in gold), shod with Pirelli P Zero tires (275/45ZR20 for the front and 305/35ZR20 for the rear).

The interior conversion will be made up by embroded head rests and console lid, aluminum treatment on the door panels, dash inserts and on the instrument cluster along with Trans Am SN badging and designation. Continue reading view renderings released by Kevin Morgan.

General Motors and Irmscher reveal the Chevrolet Cruze Bumblebee

General Motors has revealed the Chevrolet Cruze Bumblebee Special, which will make its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Cruze Bumblebee Special is inspired by the Transformers movie, although the colour scheme is different (not yellow and black).

Along with the black and orange styling, the Cruze Bumblebee Special is lowered by 30mm and comes with a rear diffuser. It is also fitted with orange-coloured 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 225mm wide tires. The reworked Cruze was also co-developed with Irmscher, a German-based tuning firm.

However, General Motors has no plans to introduce the Cruze Bumblebee Special into the market, but Irmscher revealed that it can add the upgrades in a package form, for interested customers. Continue reading to view more images of the Chevrolet Cruze Bumblebee Special.

Holland & Holland Range Rover by Overfinch: Official teaser

Overfinch, famous Surrey-based Range Rover modifiers has released a teaser image of its upcoming Holland & Holland Range Rover. Based on either the 5.0 liter 503HP Range Rover Supercharged or the TDV8 Range Rover, only 100 examples of the ultra-luxury variant will be ever made. Overfinch will work together with Holland & Holland, makers of the world’s finest sporting guns to design and manufacture the new model.

The Holland & Holland Range Rover is set to become the most luxurious off-roader ever built, and will be offered with features such as a 4-seat arrangement, with a refrigerated console.

Daryl Greatrex, Managing Director of Holland & Holland, said, “Holland & Holland is globally synonymous with both luxury and supreme functionality. To look at, to handle and shoot with a Holland & Holland is to appreciate 174 years of using the best craftsmanship and technology to make things work supremely well and look even better. It’s ten years since we had a Holland & Holland Range Rover and we decided that working with Overfinch was the only way to do it this time. Over the years it has become clear that what AMG is to Mercedes and Alpina is to BMW, so Overfinch is to Range Rover.”
