TH!NK to build factory in the U.S to manufacture its City electric car by 2011

Norwegian-based electric car specialist TH!NK has revealed its plan to build a factory in the U.S to produce its City fully-electric car, which is mini 3 door hatch that is able to return 180 kilometers in terms of driving range over a full charge. Power is derived from either a sodium or lithium battery pack, while forward and backward motion power is provided by a 30kW 3 phase asyncron electric motor.

It takes about 13 hours to fully recharge the TH!NK City via a household power outlet, and its 0 – 100km/h sprint figure is rated at 6.5 seconds. According to TH!NK which has recently undergone bankruptcy under Norwegian law and had to cease production in Norway, the new factory is expected to produce about 16,000 units in its first year, and its operation can initiate by 2011.

Other features offered with the TH!NK City include; two front airbags, ABS, regenerative brakes, power steering as well as electric windows and mirrors. Buyers can also opt for a full length sunroof, a radio CD with MP3, USB, Bluetooth and more. It comes with two front seats, while a potential buyer has to fork out extra cash to have the City fitted with two rear seats.
