Exclusive Panoz Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans” revealed

This is the Panoz Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans” that was revealed at the Circuit de La Sarthe during the Le Mans week. Only 81 units of this hand-built Abruzzi will be produced. Why 81 you might ask? Well thats because it corresponds to the number of Le Mans races that will be held up to 2013.
Each Abruzzi will be delivered to its customer at the famed Circuit de la Sarthe after being shipped directly there from the Panoz factory. Each chassis number will also contain a specific Le Mans race date and the initials of the winning drivers as well as the history of that year.
Customers will also get to drive their ‘Batmobiles’ on the Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans after receiving instructions from professional drivers. Panoz did not reveal juicier details about the car itself. In terms of performance the press release only mentioned that the Abruzzi’s powertrain can deliver 600 plus horsepower and a massive 800Nm torque of torque.

The ‘exoticar’ also features R.E.A.M.S (Recyclable Energy Absorbing Matrix System) which is a body system that features a multi-layer composite system. Its lighter than carbon fiber yet equally strong. It is also dent-resistant, shatter-proof and recyclable as well.
There is also something called TRIFECTACOOLING technology. In addition to a conventional radiator, there are stage two and stage three systems that help reduce coolant temperature on both the inflow to and the outflow from the radiator. Thats only thing we know about the system for now. Panoz or Panoz Auto Development is an American company founded by Don Panoz who is also the founder of the American Le Mans Series.
