New Zealand’s Hulme CanAm supercar now available for order

The limited edition Hulme CanAm supercar is now available for order according to manufacturer Hulme Supercars. This New Zealand high-performance top-less car is motivated by a General Motors-sourced 7.0 liter LS7 V8 engine that cranks out 600hp and 600Nm of torque. The engine is mid mounted and is linked to a CIMA 6-speed manual transmission (a sequential manual shift option will be available soon) and a transaxle with LSD.

This rear wheel drive supercar which is named after New Zealand’s Formula 1 World Champion Denny Hulme, has its chassis and body made out of carbon fiber composite which allows it to weigh below 1,000 kilograms.

Measuring 4712 mm long with a wheelbase that is figured at 2830 mm, it would take about 3.5 seconds to hit 100km/h and offer a top speed of over 322 km/h. Only 20 units will ever be produced and each will set you back £295,000 (plus local taxes).

This will include two Air New Zealand Business Premier return tickets to Auckland, New Zealand along with one week luxury accommodation for the final fitting in the car and further road and circuit driving before the car is shipped to its final destination.

Buyers will also receive a certificate of authenticity as well as a 1/8 scale replica finished in the same livery and specification of the actual car along with a full photographed dossier of the car’s build. Being such an exclusive vehicle its no surprise that buyers can custom order the car. Hulme said that UK deliveries will start by autumn 2011.
