395hp Subaru Cosworth Impreza STi CS400 revealed!
This is a new iteration of the Subaru Impreza that has been tuned up by Cosworth. Called the Subaru Cosworth STi CS400, it makes much more power than the already potent WRX STI giving it supercar-like performance. The same 2.5 liter boxer unit has been reworked with high-performance pistons, connecting rods, head gasket, oil pump and bearings. Furthermore Cosworth worked its magic on the turbocharger, compressor, wastegate, exhaust system as well as on the ECU.
With the modifications above the boxer unit now makes a respectable 395hp, compared to 296hp in its original state of tune. Thats a bump of almost 100hp while torque is now figured at 539Nm. This along with other upgrades enable the STI CS400 to hit the century mark in 3.7 seconds which is as quick as cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 while offering a top speed of 250km/h.
The WRX STI on the other hand does it in 5.2 seconds (only!). Other upgrades performed include revising the suspension. The CS400 has new coil springs along with a ride height that has been lowered by 10mm thanks to upgrades from Cosworth, Eibach and Bilstein.
The “hot-hatch” also has larger 355mm 6-pot front brakes provided by AP Racing. Visually the changes are subtle with a slightly tweaked front bumper, foglights, mesh grille and a new rear spoiler. The CS400 also sits on wider 18-inch alloy wheels giving it a slightly wider track. There are also Cosworth logos in the all the right places.
The interior features Recaro bucket seats, a centre console finished in piano black, a privacy glass and of course Cosworth badging. Unfortunately only 75 units will ever be produced and all of them are destined for the UK market. All will be right-hand-drive only and only three body colour options will be available including red, dark grey and silver. Each will set you back £49,995 and it will go on sale next month.

Cosworth and Subaru to debut tuned-up Impreza STi in Geneva
Subaru UK has confirmed that a tuned-up Impreza STi will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. This high-performance model has been co-developed with Cosworth. This is a one-off project and it will go on sale in March. Subaru and Cosworth has re-worked the handling as well as styling, apart from enhancing the engine. Some reports are suggesting that it will produce up to 500hp. Above is a teaser image released by Subaru.
