2011 Buick Excelle: Makes early reveal thanks to spyshots!

This is the 2011 Buick Excelle compact sedan that was caught completely uncovered in China. This model is rumored be launched in China at the Beijing Auto Show and is expected to hit the US market early next year. The Excelle is based on the Opel Astra with an interior that looks pretty much identical, except for a Buick badge on the steering wheel.

Exterior wise it features the brand’s typical waterfront grille and at the back, there are taillights that remind me of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata somehow. A number of powerplants are expected to offered and they should be 4-cylinder petrol units, like the hatchback. These engines are like to range between 116hp and 180hp thanks to turbocharger.

The above-mentioned hatchback model is called the Buick Excelle XT but it looks nothing like the red sedan you are seeing here. The hatchback is specifically for the Chinese market only. Continue reading to look at more images of the Excelle sedan.

Opel Insignia-based Buick Regal GS show car revealed

Yes, the word ‘show car’ in the title is supposed to be there. That simply means that General Motors is not sure of putting this GS version of the Insignia-based Buick Regal into production but many in the motoring press are pretty confident that the auto giant will put the sporty sedan into the market.

The all wheel drive show car features a 2.0 liter Ecotec DOHC turbocharged powerplant with direct injection that can output approximately 255hp and 400Nm of pulling power. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and there is also a limited slip differential.

General Motors claims that the above package can enable the GS to hit 100 km/h in under 6 seconds. A de-tuned version of the above mentioned engine will be made available in the Regal CXL models later this summer.

Other features include HiPerStrut front suspension that can help reduce torque steer and maintain negative camber during cornering, beefier Brembo brakes with cross-drilled rotors, four-piston high-strength aluminum calipers and high-performance pads, Interactive Drive Control System (IDCS) chassis control technology with three settings including normal, sport and GS and more. You will find more images after the jump.
