Bugatti 16C Galibier: More images released!

This is the Bugatti 16C Galibier. It is powered by an 8.0 liter 16-cylinder powerplant that is also featured on the super quick Bugatti Veyron. The huge engine has two-stage turbocharging and has the ability to run on biofuel and its power should be figured at about 900hp.

Rumor also has it that this almost production ready Bugatti shares the same platform with the Bentley Mulsanne. The company has released more images of the all-wheel-drive super saloon featuring a black Galibier. You can feast on these images after the jump.

Bugatti 16C Galibier is based on the Bentley Mulsanne?

Words are being exchanged among the motoring fraternity that the Bugatti 16C Galibier is actually based on the Bentley Mulsanne, or vice-versa. If you study the comparison image above, you can notice a few things. First up, is what seems to be a similar wheelbase. Other similarities include an overall length that looks the same as well as end points on the A, B and C pillars. The A pillar, has the same starting point if you look at the lower part of the A pillar. Both end points on the B pillar are placed at identical locations. The lower end point on the C pillar is also the same. Also similar is the metal/glass ratio on the doors.

There is a possibility that these are just coincidences at best. However, if you take into account that both auto brands are owned by the same auto giant, Volkswagen, its very hard to dismiss this. Apparently, the boss of both brands Franz-Josef Paefgen, was earlier quoted, saying that it would be hard to find similarities between the new Bugatti saloon and the new Bentley.

Also, regarding the Galibier’s 8.0 liter W16 powerplant, a motoring journalist who was given the chance to drive it apparently revealed that it does not have a quad-turbo system, but instead has only two turbos. According to the source, two turbos can improve torque at the bottom end. Horsepower should be rated at slightly more than 900HP. 0 – 100 km/h should take slightly less than 3.0 seconds and top speed should be good for 390 km/h.

Frankfurt 2009: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu, sold for 1.9 million Euros in Pebble Beach

Bugatti brought the recently unveiled, one-off Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu to the motor show in Frankfurt, but it did so with the permission of an unnamed owner, who parted with a massive 1.9 million Euros, when he or she purchased the ultra-rare model at the Pebble Beach Concours event.

The Sang Bleu was produced to honour Bugatti’s 100th anniversary and just like other variants of the Veyron, it has a 987HP quad-turbo W16 powerplant that can also produce 1250Nm of torque. The one-off model is treated to carbon fiber blue and polished aluminium. It is also finished with wheels that are inspired by the Grand Sport Roadster that are treated to Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two tone finish, while the interior mostly features newly developed Gaucho leather. Bugatti Bourdeaux is actually the Bugatti 16 C Galibier: Official details and images of the concept released

UPDATE: Promo video added.

In the past few months, we have been teased with an all-new 4-door Bugatti. Most of us linked the new ultra-luxury sedan with the term “Bourdeaux”. However, Bugatti has just revealed official images and details of the sedan, and we can now drop the “Bourdeaux” word for good since the auto maker calls it the Bugatti 16 C Galibier.

According to Bugatti, the Galibier, which is still in its concept phase, is “intended to be the most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four door automobile in the world.” It was presented to selected customers last weekend and it features an 8.0 liter 16-cylinder powerplant with twostage supercharging which should produce between 800 and 1000HP. Apart from petrol, it can also run on ethanol. It has an all wheel drive setup, ceramic brakes and a sports-tuned suspension.

The interior, among others, has two centrally located main instruments, a removable Reverso Tourbillon clock (made by Parmigiani, a Swiss maker of fine watches) and a large LCD screen mounted on the centre console. The instrument panel has been mounted in the middle of the dash to help keep the rear passengers constantly informed of the actual speed. Furthermore, the removable Reverso Tourbillon clock can be worn on the wrist thanks to a cleverly designed leather strap.

Just like the leaked teaser image, the Bugatti 16 C Galibier has four exhaust tailpipes on each side and features a vertical third brake light. We also know that the wings and the side doors are finished in polished aluminium while the front end has large LED headlights. The concept will not be unveiled in Frankfurt, instead it will be officially revealed sometime today or tomorrow. Continue reading to view an image gallery.

More information about the Bugatti Bordeaux concept

News has emerged regarding the Bugatti Bordeaux concept. Apparently, the auto maker will present the concept to potential owners sometime next month, and that the Veyron-maker also has two more concepts up its sleeve. The Bordeaux is expected to be motivated by the same 1001PS (987HP and 1250Nm of torque) 8.0 liter quad turbo featured in the Veyron. It will most probably be a four-door sedan and with all that power, it should safely become the fastest sedan in the world.

Bugatti presents the one-off Veyron Grand Sport “Sang Bleu”

Volkswagen-owned Bugatti has officially unveiled a new, exclusive, one-off Veyron Grand Sport variant at the Pebble Beach Concours. Called the Sang Bleu, it was produced to honour Bugatti’s 100th anniversary. The Sang Bleu joins other special edition Veyrons such as the Bleu Centenaire, Sang Noir and Pur Sang, and stands out with its carbon fiber and aluminum finish.

Meaning, instead of using the conventional two tone body finish, the Sang Bleu is treated to carbon fiber blue and polished aluminium. It is also treated to wheels that are inspired by the Grand Sport Roadster, and finished in Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two tone colours, while the interior is mostly treated to newly developed Gaucho leather. Just like other Veyron models, the Sang Bleu is motivated by a quad-turbo W16 powerplant, that is good for a mouth-watering 1001PS (987HP), and a tarmac cracking 1250Nm of torque.

As mentioned, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu is a one-off variant, and the French-based exotic car maker did not mention anything about it being put into a limited production run. Meanwhile, continue reading to view a high-res image gallery, which is the only window to the world of Bugattis, for most of us that is.

Is this the side profile rendering of the Bugatti Bordeaux? Probably not

What you see above is believed to be a side profile rendering of the Bugatti Bordeaux super sedan, which was supposed to be unveiled in Frankfurt. The image was found on Carspyshots, but I can’t find the continuity of the image, with the teaser that was revealed earlier. In the teaser, you can notice a taller rear windscreen, but the car in the rendering above does not look like it has a tall rear windscreen. Also, the car in the rendering looks more like a concept. So my guess, its probably not the side profile of the Bordeaux.
