Plug-in hybrid vehicle by Axon Automotive: On sale in 2011

British auto manufacturer Axon Automotive has previewed a new plug-in hybrid vehicle that is scheduled for a market launch in 2011. The eco-friendly vehicle can run solely on electric power for short distance drives while an internal combustion engine will kick in for long distance travel. The engine can be fueled with petrol or bioethanol.
According to the company, the vehicle can output less than 50 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The 2-seater features seats that are made from recycled jeans and pinstriped suits. Furthermore, the door panels are made from recycled carbon fiber. As mentioned above, the vehicle will go on sale in 2011 and full production will initiate in 2012.
