Alpina unveils F10-based 500hp B5 Biturbo at Goodwood

Famous tuner of BMW cars, Alpina has unveiled it’s latest creation at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new B5 Biturbo which is based on the F10 5-Series is motivated by BMW’s 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 which makes 500hp and 699Nm of torque. The B5 is also treated to different bumpers and quad-exhaust ends, two at each end. You can also notice Alpina’s very recognizable multi-spoke wheels. There are also Alpina badging on the inside with Alpina-styled dials on the instrument panel.

Power is sent from the engine to an 8-speed automatic transmission. 0 – 100km/h takes 4.7 seconds while it’s top speed is figured at 307km/h, unrestricted. Thus far this is the quickest F10 money can buy, as the all new M5 will only be available in 2011. The new M5 is also expected to use the 4.4 liter V8 but it should produce at least 555hp or even breaching 600hp. Instead of an automatic, the M5 is very likely to feature a dual-clutch transmission.
Alpina has yet to reveal the B5′s pricing but potential buyers in the UK can expect to fork out about £65,000 for it.
Hyundai not heading to the Tokyo Motor Show, Lotus and Alpina the only foreign brands to be present

It was revealed that Korean auto maker will not attend this year’s Tokyo Motor Show in Japan, that is happening between October 24th and November 4th. The auto maker, which has just revealed the long wheelbase version of the Equus luxury sedan in Korea, gave the news to the organizer of the motor show via telephone. In fact, Hyundai paid US$122,000, in nonrefundable fees for a 4,300-square-foot exhibition area at the show. From the foreign front, only Lotus and Alpina are expected to be seen.
The event, which is the 41st, has even been shortened to 13 days, from 17 days. Domestic brands like Subaru, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Daihatsu, Nissan and Suzuki will showcase their cars, and the Lexus LF-A V10 supercar should steal the limelight. Subaru is also expected to reveal the new Justy.
507HP BMW Alpina B7: leaked image!

What you see above is a leaked image of the F01 BMW 7 Series-based Alpina B7 which is set to make its Geneva debut in a couple of days. Thanks to the Alpina exterior treatment, the B7 looks wider and lower, which gives it a more aggressive stance.
The BMW tuner will release more details regarding the up-rated luxury sedan along with its launch, but thus far we already know that the B7 is powered by a tuned 4.4 liter V8 with twin turbos which enables the Alpina to hit the 100 km/h mark in 4.7 seconds and to hit a top speed of 278 km/h.
This is thanks to a total 507HP and 700Nm of torque under the hood of the high performance 7 Series, which is very much considered as an M7, but without the stamp from M GmbH.
