Acura to launch new Accord Tourer-based 2011 TSX Sport Wagon

Acura has officially announced that it will introduce a new 2011 TSX Sport Wagon that will be based on the Honda Accord Tourer sold in the European market. You can expect the new wagon to hit showrooms in America by fall next year. Acura facelifts the 2010 MDX SUV for the US market

The Acura MDX SUV has been facelifted for the 2010 model year. The MDX now features a new front grille (which I am sure you are not a fan of as well), new front and rear bumpers, slightly restyled hood, new exhaust tail pipes, new side sills and reworked LED taillights. The refreshed MDX also comes with 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, all in a 7-spoke design.

On the inside, it is now finished with a thick-rimmed steering wheel, revised controls on the dashboard as well as front seat headrests that are relocated to offer better comfort. Acura also revealed that the new MDX’s interior comes with higher quality materials. There are also more LED interior lighting along with more detailed leather stitching.

Also available is a AcuraLink Real-Time Weather and Traffic Rerouting systems, a new VGA 8-inch navigation screen, a new rear view camera as well as an upgraded audio system. Acura has also updated the 3.7-liter VTEC V6 powerplant with new cylinder heads that, among others include an improved cooling system, new intake valve springs and more. However, the engine still cranks out 300HP and 270 lb-ft of torque (5 lb-ft less than before, surprisingly).

With that said, the engine offers slightly better fuel consumption figures, which is rated at 16 miles to the gallon for EPA estimated city calculations and 21 miles to the gallon based on the highway calculations. The 2010 Acura MDX also comes with improved handling, thanks to a reworked power steering system, more rigid body and a stiffer trailing arm mounting. Also included, is a totally new 6 speed automatic cog box. The new MDX is expected to hit showrooms in the US by September this year. Continue reading to view an image gallery.
