AC Cars has announced that it will showcase a new 800HP roadster at the Pebble Beach Concours event, happening this weekend. The new roadster, as expected will feature design cues influenced by the classic AC Cobra. The roadster should be able to deliver 338 km/h and hit the quarter mile mark in under 9 seconds.

All 800 horses will come from a 6.9 liter light-weight V8. The development of the car also involves American-based Iconic Motors. Its chairman Claudio Ballard said, “The Iconic AC Roadster is more than just a car, it’s among the world’s most refined and beautifully designed supercars.” “It’s probably the lightest, strongest, most well engineered high-performance roadster of our time,” he concluded.

AC Cars to debut the Cobra MkVI in Monaco

AC Cars has revealed that it will launch the Cobra MkVI at the Top Marques auto event in Monaco on April 16th. With an exterior design that remains true to the original AC Cobra (love it!), the MkVI version comes with a lightweight removable hardtop with “gullwing” styled doors. Built by Gullwing GmbH in Germany, the MkVI weighs just over 1000 kilograms and features an aluminium bodywork and a hand-built tubular space-frame chassis.

With a plush interior treatment, the Cobra is offered in two forms; a GT as well as a GTS. Both are powered by the same Corvette-sourced 6.2 liter V8. However output figures are different with 437HP for the GT while the GTS pumps out 647HP, which then enables the super car to hit 100km/h in 3.3 seconds.

Stopping power is provided by 4-pot Porsche brake calipers with vented discs, 332 mm for the front and 298 mm for the rear. It also features a differential with variable powerlock as well as air conditioning. Continue reading to view more images of the Cobra MkVI.
