Atomik Cars to unveil all-electric Abarth 500 next month

What you see above is a widened Abarth 500 with an all-electric powertrain underneath it. This emissions-free 500 is developed by French tuner Atomik Cars and it is expected to be revealed on April 15th at the Top Marques Monaco event.
The powertrain enables the vehicle to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.6 seconds, 400-meter point in 14 seconds and the one kilometer mark in 26 seconds. Aesthetics wise, the electric Abarth which will be based on a limited production run of 50 units only features a body kit along with new wheels.

Abarth reveals the 180HP Abarth 500 R3T

Fiat-owned Abarth has revealed the Abarth 500 R3T rally car that will take part in a promotional rally trophy in 2010, for the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse. The rally car is type-approved for Group R3T, the category for turbocharged cars up to 1.6 liters in capacity. Power comes from a 1.4 liter engine, fitted with a Garret GT 1446 fixed geometry turbocharger. Total power output is rated at 180HP at 5,500 revs. The FIA-approved 1080 kg Abarth features a 6 speed sequential transmission, adjustable sports suspension, Brembo brakes, as well as 17-inch wheels, shod with 19/62-17 tires. Frankfurt 2009: 180HP Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari made its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Tributo Ferrari is based on the Fiat 500 hatch and is produced to showcase the relationship between Abarth and Ferrari. According to Fiat, the two brands “share a passion for performance, a racing soul, attention to detail and Italian style”.
Under the hood lies a 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 16v gasoline engine that can cranks out 180HP at 5,750 revs and has a peak torque of 230Nm that is achieved at 3,300 revs. With a 5 speed Manual Transmission Automated gearbox with race-inspired paddle gearshifters, it can sprint to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds and will go on till the speedometer hits 225 km/h.
Fiat has additionally fitted 17-inch wheels shod with 205/40 ZR17 tires, carbon fibre door mirrors, xenon headlights (supplied by Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting) and a 4-pipe exhaust system (“Record Monza” variable back-pressure). Apparently, the exhaust system can deliver an inspiring sound over 3,000 revs. Stopping power is provided by Brembo, with 4-piston calipers. Inside, it has carbon fiber seats, red leather inserts, racing pedals with Abarth’s Scorpion logo, a Ferrari-inspired and Jaeger-made instrument panel, special kick plates and a plate bearing the vehicle’s series number.
