Felipe Massa back behind the wheel of a Formula 1

Brazilian Felipe Massa had his taste of a single seater Formula 1 car for the first time today, since his life-threatening crash during the qualifying session of the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. Massa, who sustained injuries from an 80-gram spring that hit his helmet’s visor, tested an F2007 at Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit.
He told AFP, “When I was in the car it felt as if nothing had happened. I’m the same bastard as before. Everything went well, I’m in good shape physically, it felt as if the incident on July 25 had never happened. I had no problems with my sight and I’m ready to do not one but two races in a row.”
“Obviously I’ll take my time as a precaution, you have to respect that, but having got in the car I can tell you that I’m just as I was before the accident,” he added. With that said, there is a chance that he may take part in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 1st, which is the final race of the season. However, Ferrari ruled out Massa’s 2009 comeback and revealed that he will concentrate on the 2010 season instead.
