Nissan to launch a new global compact car in 2010

Japanese auto maker Nissan has announced that it will launch a new global compact car by March 2010 in Thailand. The compact car, which is yet to be named, will be manufactured in five countries, including Thailand, India and in China. In India, the auto maker will produce the new vehicle at the Chennai plant.

With production to start in May 2010, the compact car will be sold in 150 countries worldwide. The auto maker also revealed that the new Nissan will be the first vehicle to be qualified as an “Eco Car” in Thailiand. Motoring pundits are calling the new car, the next Nissan Micra or March.
