Bugatti 16C Galibier is based on the Bentley Mulsanne?

Words are being exchanged among the motoring fraternity that the Bugatti 16C Galibier is actually based on the Bentley Mulsanne, or vice-versa. If you study the comparison image above, you can notice a few things. First up, is what seems to be a similar wheelbase. Other similarities include an overall length that looks the same as well as end points on the A, B and C pillars. The A pillar, has the same starting point if you look at the lower part of the A pillar. Both end points on the B pillar are placed at identical locations. The lower end point on the C pillar is also the same. Also similar is the metal/glass ratio on the doors.
There is a possibility that these are just coincidences at best. However, if you take into account that both auto brands are owned by the same auto giant, Volkswagen, its very hard to dismiss this. Apparently, the boss of both brands Franz-Josef Paefgen, was earlier quoted, saying that it would be hard to find similarities between the new Bugatti saloon and the new Bentley.
Also, regarding the Galibier’s 8.0 liter W16 powerplant, a motoring journalist who was given the chance to drive it apparently revealed that it does not have a quad-turbo system, but instead has only two turbos. According to the source, two turbos can improve torque at the bottom end. Horsepower should be rated at slightly more than 900HP. 0 – 100 km/h should take slightly less than 3.0 seconds and top speed should be good for 390 km/h.
