Yes! Its finally here! Following a recent image leak, Daimler-owned Mercedes Benz has released official details to go along high-res images of the SLS AMG Gullwing supercar that will make its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The high performance power house is mated to AMG’s new dual clutch transmission with 7 cogs (with steering-mounted paddle shifters), which is positioned at the rear axle. It has four different settings including C (Controlled Efficiency), S (Sport), S+ (Sport plus) and M (Manual).

The supercar sits on 265/35 R 19 tires up front and 295/30 R 20 tires at the back. Suspension wise, it is treated to a double wishbone setup. With a weight distribution of 47% to the front and 53% to the rear, it has a weight figure that is measured at 1,620 kg.

Highlights of the exterior include Gullwing-type doors that open by up to 70 degrees, a 79-inch long hood, daytime LED running lights (under the headlights) and LED taillights. The sporty and yet plush interior is finished in high-quality materials such as nappa leather with colour options including black, classic red, sand, porcelain and light brown. Buyers can also opt for a carbon fiber finish as well. Other features include a three-stage ESP and ceramic brakes. The Gullwing will go on sale in spring 2010, with a €177,310 price tag, in Germany.
