The new Subaru Legacy was recently launched at this year’s New York Auto Show, and now, you can expect all there models, including the Legacy sedan, regular estate and the Outback estate (with higher ground clearance) to be launched locally sometime in October. The new Subaru Legacy sedan which has grown to offer a bigger cabin and trunk space, is 35 mm longer, 90 mm wider, 80 mm higher and 80 mm longer in terms of wheelbase compared to the previous model.

Inside, there is a new instrument panel with four dials, newly-designed 3-spoke steering wheel with audio and cruise control buttons, a multi-information display with average-MPG and more. The new Legacy comes with the Symmetrical AWD system and features a MacPherson-type strut suspension with a thicker stabilizer at the front while the rear is treated to a double-wishbone setup. There are three transmission options including a 6 speed manual cog box, a chain-type Lineartronic CVT tranny as well as a 5 speed automatic transmission.

Also available are three different boxer engines, such as the 170HP 2.5 liter SOHC engine in the Legacy 2.5i (230Nm of torque), 265HP 2.5 liter DOHC Turbo in the Legacy 2.5T (349Nm of torque) and a normally aspirated 256HP 3.6 liter DOHC engine in the Legacy 3.6R (334Nm of torque). There will also be a 2.0 liter petrol engine for the sedan, which will also be offered for the European market. At the moment we are unable to conform as to which engine and transmission option will be offered here by Motor Image. Motor Image is now able to receive pre-orders, and pricing starts from S$91,000 (with COE) for the 2.0 liter sedan, and will go up to S$124,000 (with COE) for the 3.6-litre Outback estate.
