Tata Nano European crash test: Video

Lets face it, the Tata Nano is a small super mini. So, is it a safe car vehicle? Its normal for many of us to question the safety standards of the 1 Lakh super mini. Fortunately for the Indian auto maker and for its potential owners, the Nano has passed its first set of European crash tests. However, the two cars that were tested were modified versions of the Nano, that are being put together for the European market.

Tata did reveal earlier that the standard Nano, which is currently being sold in India would have not passed the test. During the test, one Nano was was crashed in a 50 km/h side impact collision, while the other was crashed in a 56 km/h offset frontal impact test. Modifications performed included, reinforcements across the entire car, additional strengthening performed on the front bumper and on the front two doors and more.
