New form of fuel: Human Urine!
When we first started this site, we never ever thought of combining the word ‘car’ and ‘urine’ in the same sentence! But, as we human progress, looks like we can’t run away from doing that. Scientists at the Ohio University in the US have discovered a way to extract hydrogen from human urine, that can then be used as fuel for fuel cell / hydrogen cars!
Apparently, according to the research, it is easier to extract hydrogen from urine, rather than extracting it from water. To retrieve it from water, more energy is needed, which then defeats the entire purpose in a way. This finding is made possible thanks to the fact that there is Ammonia in urine, and Ammonia is made up by one nitrogen atom and two hydrogen atoms.
