Tan Chong’s new S$ 40 million TC Nissan Hub

Tan Chong International, official dealer for the Nissan auto brand in Singapore has opened a new auto centre, called the TC Nissan Hub, in Singapore’s Sixth Lok Yang Road. This new four storey, 400,000 sq ft centre is worth S$ 40 million, and is not only a vehicle storage centre, but also a car delivery facility.

Most importantly, the centre is fitted with RFID, which stands for Radio Frequency Identification, the first of its kind in the republic. With the system, Tan Chong can effectively store and manage up to 900 cars. Each car is fitted with an RFID tag, and this allows the car to be retrieved with just a touch of a button, thus reducing time and saving fuel. The system is so effective and fluid that it can prevent cars from getting scratched.

As a car delivery centre, potential customers can take deliveries from the comfort of an air-conditioned area. Engines can be started within the indoor compound, as each car has an extraction system fitted at the end of the exhaust pipe, to help channel out exhaust output.

The centre can deliver up to 12 cars at a given time and cars stored in the centre will also have lower miles clocked on them, due to the effectiveness of the storage system. Typically, with the more conventional system, a car would have a further 50 kilometers clocked, just by moving it here and there to facilitate deliveries.
