Diagnose and monitor your trip information through iPhone’s Rev application

Have an iPhone? Well now you can purchase a software for US$ 40.00 (at iTunes) which allows you to monitor your trip information such as acceleration, commute times as well as instant and average fuel economy. The information can be displayed in real time and it can also be stored for later analysis. The software is able to do this by making use of the accelerometer and GPS functions that are already available on the iPhone.
On top of that, if you’re a true motoring nut, you can even perform a diagnosis check on your car, via its OBDII function. With an aftermarket OBDII port connector, you can monitor throttle position, calculated engine load, fuel pressure, timing advance, mass air flow, air intake temperatures, boost, and intake manifold pressure. You can practically use the iPhone to clear the “Check Engine” lights! How cool is that? You can even download a limited “Lite” version for free. Continue reading to watch a 4 minute 13 second-long video that showcases the application in use. I can’t wait to get my iPhone now!
