Premium bus operators can now display route information on bus stops

Good news for premium bus commuters as the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has managed to come to an agreement with TransitLink to display route information on bus stops for premium bus services. Prior to this, commuters had to access the information online.

Currently there are at least six premium bus operators that offer fewer stops and guaranteed seats but at a slightly higher fare. Route information will be displayed on bus stops gradually, and bus stops in Yio Chu Kang and Seletar became the first ones to display the information on Thursday.

Operators involved will have to pay an annual fee of S$ 12.00 for each premium bus as well as another S$ 11.00, which is a one-off production fee for the display of the route information. Prior to this, TransitLink only allowed these operators to display their service numbers, which wasn’t much a help. By displaying the route information, operators can now draw in more commuters.
