Audi Q3 to be launched in 2011, along with the Audi A1

Ingolstadt-based premium auto maker Audi has officially revealed that the upcoming Audi Q3 SUV will be launched in 2011, along with the Audi A1 compact vehicle. The new A3, which would be a “coupé-like five-door SUV with seat positions, wheel size, and ground clearance characteristic of a typical SUV” will also be manufactured in Martorell, Spain (a SEAT site). Investment is figured at 300 million Euros and the auto maker expects a production capacity of up to 80,000 units a year.

The potential BMW X1-fighter would feature design elements carried over from the Audi Cross Coupe Quattro Concept which was previewed in Shanghai, back in 2007. The Audi Q3 will join the lineup made up of the Audi Q5 (produced in Ingolstadt, Germany) which was also recently released for the Singaporean market and the Audi Q7 (produced in Bratislava, Slovakia).
