Volkswagen reveals the Tiguan R Line for the U.K market

Volkswagen has revealed a racier Tiguan, called the R Line for the U.K market. The new sportier variant will hit dealers by June this year and prices range between £24,635 for the more modest TDI and £26,305 for the petrol powered version. On the outside, it gets a new front end with a reworked splitter and a matte chrome-finish grille. The side profile features new fender flares with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped with with 255/40 tires. The rear is finished with a new rear bumper, accompanied by an air diffuser element as well as a discrete spoiler.

The interior on the other hand is treated to R-badging on the sports seats, R Line aluminium pedals and trim, flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, advanced 2-Zone climate control as standard as well as four airbags, automatic lights, front fog lights, rain sensors and sports suspension, all carried over from the Tiguan Sport model.

No changes were performed under hood, as the Tiguan R Line comes in three forms, all with already available power outputs. A 140HP and a 170HP version of the 2.0 liter TDI common rail diesel engine, as well as a 200HP variant of the 2.0 liter TSI powerplant. Potential buyers can choose between five body colours, including Candy White, Reflex Silver, Deep Black, Biscay Blue and Mountain Grey.
