Next-generation In-Vehicle Units (IUs) by the end of June

The Land Transport Authority of Singapore has revealed that motorists will be able to switch to the next generation In-Vehicle Units or IUs by end of June 2009. Motorists will then be able to use cashcards and the new CEPAS-compliant EZ Link cards to pay for Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges and car park fees.
With a price of S$ 150 per unit, the new IU will be available at LTA authorized inspection centres. Motorists will not be able to use the EZ Link card to pay for parking fees right away, as these car parks have to upgrade their systems to support the card, from October onwards. For more information regarding the new In-Vehicle Unit, please call the Land Transport Authority at 1800-225-5582.
