BMW Z10 EfficientDynamics: Sketch by BMW’s Adrian van Hooydonk

After bringing you a report regarding the BMW Z10 EfficientDynamics some time back, we now have a sketch of the soon-to-be rival to the Audi R8 made by BMW’s design chief; Adrian van Hooydonk who recently took over the job from Chris Bangle.

Design wise, the BMW Z10 ED will feature an aggressive front end with a low roof line, dynamic sweptback headlights and a bold character line that offers a contrast to the curvaceous body style of the Z10. You can expect the BMW Z10 to be powered by a front-mounted 3.0 liter power house that is able to produce 400HP.

Other features to be included to make the BMW Z10 worthy of carrying the EfficientDynamics badge include; brake regeneration, engine stop/start system as well as a body/frame design that features generous use of carbon fiber and aluminium.

Expected to offer a fuel consumption figure that rivals the mid range BMW 5 Series, the BMW Z10 ED may go into production by 2012 and is expected to feature an 80,000 Euros price tag. Also expect the Z10 to be previewed as a concept later this year in Frankfurt or Tokyo.
