Opel releases another teaser image of the Opel Ampera

Across the Atlantic, General Motors-owned Opel has released a second teaser image of the Opel Ampera electric-mobile. Essentially a re-badged version of the Chevy Volt for the European market, the Ampera features a different front fascia compared to its American sibling. With a more futuristic front end, it carries certain design cues from the Opel Insignia. The side profile seems similar with the Volt.
The only information which was released along with the teaser is that it has a 16kWh lithium ion battery pack which is able to power the vehicle for a full 60 kilometers via an electric motor, and that with the range extending internal combustion engine, it can deliver 500 kilometers. Being a re-badge, it carries over drive systems from the Volt. Since that is the case, the range extending engine should also be able to receive biofuel or E85.
Another thing we know because of that, is the electric motor is able to deliver 150HP and 370Nm of torque. The 4-door 5-seater hatch is expected to hit European showrooms by 2011.
