Tan Chong Motors launches the Nissan Elgrand MPV for local consumption
Official distributor of the Nissan auto brand; Tan Chong Motors, has launched the latest Nissan Elgrand monstrous MPV for the Singaporean market. The huge 8-seater MPV receives power from a 2.6 liter V6 that is capable of 186HP and 232Nm of torque at 3,200 revs. The V6 is mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission (with 5th gear as an overdrive). This transmission also features a manual shift mode.
Measuring at 4, 835 mm in length, 1, 815 mm in width and 1, 916 mm in height as well as 2, 950 mm in terms of wheelbase, the Elgrand carries a S$ 138,000 price tag, inclusive of COE. With a minimum turning radius of 5.7 meters, it features MacPherson-struts up front with a multi-link rear independent suspension.
Safety features include Dual Front Supplement Restraint System (SRS) airbags, Front-seat active head restraint, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), BA (Brake Assist) for emergency braking, EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) which automatically controls brake and engine output to enhance stability when sensors detect if the vehicle is slipping sideways.
The Elgrand also comes with Xenon-headlights fitted with AFS (Active Adaptive Front-lighting system). Other exterior features include; remote-control sliding doors, Intelligent Key (with engine immobilizer/alarm system) and a Backdoor Exterior Push Button. On the inside, apart from a very airy interior, it has a Display Monitor with Reverse Camera which is important for this huge MPV, swiveling-seats as well as a DVD entertainment system.
