Fiat releases official images and details about the 500C!

Italian based Fiat has just released three official images and details about the Fiat 500C moments ago. The 500C, which is basically a drop top version of the popular Fiat 500 super mini, will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show and will hit European showrooms this spring.

Featuring similar dimensions as the hard top variant, the 500C has a sliding roof top, while retaining the C-pillar, which actually means that the luggage space of the 4-seater mini cabriolet isn’t affected. Offered in three different colour options (ivory, red and black), the soft top which is electrically operated even features a glass backlight and a built-in center mounted stop light.

Also just like the its hard top sibling, the 500C is offered with three engine options. These include a 75HP 1.3 liter Multijet Turbo Diesel, while petrol powered engines include a 69HP 1.2 liter as well as a 100HP version of the same engine. Transmission wise the turbo diesel is mated to a 5 speed manual while the petrol motors are coupled with either the manual, or a robotized Dualogic transmission.

The 500C should also be offered in three different trim levels including; Pop, Lounge and Sport. We can also expect Fiat to offer a turbocharged 1.4-liter Abarth edition with 133HP later this year.

The 500C also comes fitted with a Start&Stop technology to further optimize fuel efficiency. When the car comes to a stop and when the gearbox is in neural, the engine shuts down. It will instantly restart when the driver selects a gear. The Fiat 500C will go into production at the Tichy plant in Poland. More information to come once the stylish super mini is launched in Switzerland.
