BMW releases official images and an animation video of its 5 Series Gran Turismo / PAS

The concept version of BMW’s 5 Series-based Progressive Activity Sedan will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show early next month, and prior to the official unveiling, the German based auto maker has released some official images of the concept, which is now officially named as the 5 Series Gran Turismo.

The GT which looks like a lowered version of the BMW X6, is said to have legroom of a 7 Series and head clearance of a BMW X5, while the maximum loading capacity is rated at 1,650 liters. Looking at the images of the tail gate system, I can’t help but to wonder about the objective of the lower tail gate in the first place. I am pretty sure potential owners will simply lift up the top opening, instead of utilizing the lower tail gate.

With a semi command driving position just like the X5 and X6, the concept also features a panoramic roof. Just like the latest 7 Series, it features a Black-Panel LCD instrument and centre panel display and a rather large kidney grille. Fitted with large 21-inch alloy wheels, it also has adjustable rear seats.
