Mugen works its magic with the 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid – Video!

Honda’s tuning arm; Mugen has launched a number of performance, aesthetics and practical upgrades for the Honda Insight Hybrid which was recently launched in Japan. These upgrades include an aerodynamic package, new wheels (15 and 16 inch), suspension upgrades, intelligent Tire Condition Monitoring System (i-TCMS) and aluminium sports pedals as well as Mugen floor mats.

The aerodynamic package, being the most substantial upgrade features a front spoiler with fog lamps, new front grille, side skirts, ventilated visors, rear spoiler with a diffuser and a triangular exhaust tail pipe. A large rear wing make up the rest of the package. The aero-kit which also gives the hybrid a sportier look, helps to create zero lift (which is why the package is called the Zero Lift aero-package) which can slightly improve its fuel economy.

The suspension upgrade includes new springs and dampers which help improve handling. The car also sits closer to the ground thanks to a ride height reduction of 20 mm. Especially with the side profile image above of the Mugen-Insight with a large rear wing and a white paint job, it reminds me of the Honda Civic Type R sedan, which is good!
