The next Toyota Wish to get a Valvematic engine and a CVT transmission!

A leaked brochure reveal that the new Toyota Wish, although expected to share the same platform with the out going one, will enjoy a new range of Dual VVT-i and Valvematic engines and a Super CVT-i transmission. The range topping 158HP 2.0 liter with 196Nm of torque will feature the Valvematic variable valve lift system while the 1.8 liter variant will be able to produce 144HP and 176Nm of torque.

Apart from the obvious design changes, the Wish, at least in Japan, will be offered in four different models including the 2.0Z, the 2.0G, the 1.8S and the 1.8X, and these four models will also be differentiated with slightly different exterior looks such as different levels of wheel arches which result to different widths. The information given in the leaked brochure is in regards to the Japanese market Wish, and there “may” be some omissions for our local version.
