Electric scooters by German company to hit Singapore roads!

Bavarian based scooter maker; E-Max has revealed via its local distributor Zeco Scooters, that it will offer two models of its electric powered scooter in Singapore as early as this quarter as the local distributor has already gained in-principal approval by the Land Transport Authority.

The company which plans to sell 200 units this year has already been selling its electric scooters in Europe, United States, Australia and Japan. Two models to be introduced include; the E-MAX 90S and the E-MAX 110S. Both feature silicon batteries and a 4000W high-torque maintenance free motor which is able to deliver 50 km/h in terms of top speed.

What differentiates the two models is the riding range over a full charge. The 90S can deliver 45-60 km while the 110S has an improved range of 70-90 km. However the 110S comes in about 40 kg heavier than the 90S at 195 kg.

The emissions free scooter can be charged up via a house hold power outlet and charging time is between 2 hours to 5 hours and it only requires about $ 100 worth of electricity a year. Zeco Scooters has also mentioned that it intends to setup a nationwide infrastructure for electric vehicles in the long run.

Both models will be officially launched this week. Pricing wise, the 90S is available for $ 6,999 while the 110S can be purchased at $ 7,399 (excluding COE).

this is actually a fantastic transportation solution! 100 dollars a year? its ridiculous!

Great transportation.. at those prices.. suckers are downright ripped-off. Get those from china for less than SGD1,000. works just as well if not better. hehehehe…

These scooters are indeed beautiful, user friendly, and fuel saving. Before sale of these machines, there should be ample convenient battery charging facilities in place. Furthermore, repairing and servicing workshops should be set up before these scooters hit the roads. Buyers of these scooters should beware of thiefs or envied vandals attracted to these expensive machines parked overnight in public carparks, unless potential owners have their own private parking area. Therefore preventive measures need to be taken before buying these scooters.

Wow, very nice! Electric vehicles are so much more efficient than petrol ones – definitely a good cost saver and more environmentally friendly. Lam Chun Chew – do you know how much a Harley costs?

I wonder why 4000W for only max speed of 50KM/Hr, when 750W specs could achieve the same speed ? S$7K is definitely over priced. Litium battery sounded good, but not price practical. Such Scooter only help for greener environment, but it does not help your pocket. India & China designs are more pramatic approach for greener yet big saver.

Is Zeco selling already? I understand they have launched, but can I buy already?

Super trendy scooter down on the road! Scooter lovers definitely won’t be able to take their eyes off this latest hit in town. Furthermore, it is cost-saving. There is nothing more to grouse about.

It’s freaking worth the money! Investing for one is not only environmental friendly but also affordable for anyone who loves to ride on scooters.

I am always in support of more green vehicles to be on the road to reduce green house gases. But I reckon the scooter’s price is rather on the high side. if the cost is to be ranged at $4000 to $4800 w/o COE, perhaps I will consider changing my old bike.

Stanley.

$100 a year is a steal.. Lucky Singapore..

It could have been nice if it’s not $100 worth. Is there any other choice to push through this with a lower price?

The bike too expensive. If not, i might consider to change my bike.

And if the battery is removable, its would be better as i can bring home and charge too.
