Bentley officially reveals the new Bentley Continental GTC range!

British based luxury auto maker, Bentley arrived at the Detroit Motor Show with two recently updated models from the Continental GTC range which first saw light back in 2006; the Continental GTC and the Continental GTC Speed. The GTC models were refreshed with a more upright radiator grille, bolder lower air intakes, chromed headlamp bezels and a re-tuned Servotronic power steering system.

More features include Adaptive Cruise Control which can be continuously operated even when the car stops, and carbon ceramic brakes (available only with 20 inch wheels), both of which are offered as optional upgrades. Two new body colours have been added as well including; Aquamarine and Blue Crystal, apart from 15 other colours. The new GTC models also offer a new Aquamarine interior colour scheme.
Both GTC models are powered by a 6.0 liter V12 with twin turbochargers which features 48 valves and 4 cam shafts with continually variable valve timing. Both models have their engines mated to a ZF 6 speed automatic transmission.

The power plant on the standard GTC delivers 552HP, whereas the GTC Speed produces 600HP which translates into 15% more power than the standard model. The 600HP V12 in the GTC Speed also develops 750Nm of chassis twisting power. This gives the GTC Speed a top speed of 200mph and a naught to 60mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds with the roof up.
The 6 speed automatic transmission can be operated in Drive or Sport mode and also offers drivers the function to operate the tranny as a clutch-less manual with gears selected in a sequential arrangement via floor mounted gear lever or paddles on the back of the steering wheel. Power is sent to all four wheels through an all wheel drive setup. Both GTC’s also feature ESP where drivers can choose between a more forgiving Sport Traction mode or a more power friendly Dynamic Mode (for GTC Speed only).
The standard GTC features new low-friction dampers which improves comfort levels while the GTC Speed which is lowered by 10mm up front and 15 mm at the back features dynamic Continuous Damping Control (CDC) which changes damping characteristics based on driving conditions.
Both models also feature a tire pressure monitoring system which can also alert drivers if the traveling speed is too much for the set tire pressure and if speed ratings are exceeded on winter tires.

Hand crafted cabins of both models are available with a choice of 6 natural, unbleached, laser-cut wood veneers and 17 premium grade leather hides, including the new option, Aquamarine. Offered as standard for the GTC Speed and as an upgrade for the standard variant is the Mulliner Driving Specification which features diamond quilted hide seats with embroidered Bentley emblems, knurled chrome and hide gear lever and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with brushed aluminum switch surround.
These are also complemented by drilled alloy foot-pedals and ‘Speed’ logos to the polished tread plates. The standard GTC also receives a new Bentley ‘B’ insignia on the brake pedal. Other key features offered by the new GTC range with 2+2 seating configuration include; fully adjustable electric front seats, removable rear seat panel, comprehensive infotainment system which includes 6 CD changer and DVD satellite navigation, telephone voice dialing, rollover protection system and so on.

To help differentiate between the two models, the GTC Speed has a unique set of design features including; dark-tinted matrix grille on the upper and lower air intakes, a black lower bumper valance, wider, rifled exhaust tailpipes and 20 inch, silver-painted, multi-spoke alloy wheels. The wheels are available as an option with a special dark tint finish.
