Renault may follow suit and leave Formula 1 too?

Just hours after the announcement of Toyota’s departure from Formula 1, it was revealed that Renault is now considering to leave the pinnacle of motor sport as well. Reports all over the Internet claim that the automaker held an emergency meeting board meeting yesterday to discuss the option of withdrawing from Formula 1. However the outcome of the meeting has not been been revealed.

Apparently Renault may either completely leave the sport or simply stick around by just supplying engines. However, the team has recently signed Robert Kubica from BMW and secured sponsorship from TW Steel for three years. It has not been a good year for the team as the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix “crashgate” scandal erupted this year, resulting in a suspended ban for two years. More to come soon!
